Why Kid's TV Shows are Educational

Finley has written a speech to persuade adults that some kid's TV programmes are educational and worth watching. He decided to present his speech using Google Slides. He has figured out how to insert videos into his slides to give examples for each main point of his speech.

Life in the Cook Islands

As part of our Learning Pathways topic, we have been reading about different people around the world. We have been considering how their lives might be different to ours. After reading the journal story Feeding Time, Christopher and Finley used little bird tales to illustrate what they learnt from their reading.

I Wonder

Today we started talking about our learning pathways topic for Term 2. The topic of study is Our World. Some of the children had some questions about the topic that they recorded onto the iPad.

We are going to be exploring the our world's continents and oceans. Check out this video about the continents and oceans on Earth.

End of Term Assembly

As term 1 draws to a close, it is time to celebrate some of the learning that has been taking place around the school. Today we were treated to a performance by the school choir and the girl's kapahaka. 

Puppet Pals Narrative

We have been learning how to write narratives. Finley has used Puppet Pals to publish a narrative he wrote about a bully.

Safe Places

As part of Kia Kaha, we have been talking about the places in school that we feel safe to play. The children in Room 5 were set a group challenge of recording a video on the iPad of themselves in both a safe and unsafe place to play within the school. They made some great videos, here are the results.

Good Choices

As part of the Kia Kaha programme, we have been talking about making choices. Today we had to create some skits to demonstrate what making good choices is all about. 

Finley's Hairy Monster

The children in R5 have spent the last week exploring the links on our blog. ScribblerToo is an art link that Finley has been experimenting with. He has created a hairy monster. There is also a recording of Finley describing his monster.
